Eat me, New York. No - EAT YOU!

It has been a while since I last posted anything on my blog. Who wants to sit in front of a laptop when you can LAY on your couch with an iPad?! Since iPad came into my life, my blogging seems to have dried up... well anyway, I'm coming back.

Here's what prompted my return... eating. More specifically, recommending places to eat here in New York for my friends. I've been really lucky to have several visits from friends and family over the past couple of years, and while they all want to know where to go, what to see, what to do... they all seem to be most interested in where to EAT and DRINK!!

I also often to struggle to think of places I want to go when I'm put on the spot, so I thought I'd put together my master list of eateries and drinking holes... here we go!
  • Bubby's
    • Great for breakfast, lunch AND dinner... the ribs for dinner rock. Ohhhhh baby.
    • 120 Hudson Street (corner of North Moore) in TriBeCa, New York, NY 10013. (212) 219-0666
    • http://bubbys.com/tribeca.html

  • Jane
    • On West Houston Street between Thompson Sullivan streets at the top end of Soho.
    • World famous truffle oil and butter gnocchi (been on TV several different times) and the world's best burger. No joke. And pretty cheap considering how classy and trendy the place is. $15 for an amazing burger with a heap of fries. Hello?! That's good for NYC.
    • 100 West Houston Street, New York - (212) 254-7000

  • New Malaysia Restaurant and I guess anywhere in China town, but this place is great.
    • Who doesn't want to have the menu displayed on giant flat screen TVs for you to choose from?! NOT ME!
    • Yes, it's down a slightly dodgy looking alley but it's worth the visit.
    • 48 Bowery, New York, NY 10013-4859. (212) 964-0284

  • Chinatown Ice Cream Factory
    • 65 Bayard St # B, New York, NY 10013-4931. (212) 608-4170

    • 11 Madison Avenue # 1, New York, NY 10010-3680. (212) 889-6600
  • Grey Dog's Coffee in the West Village.
    • Great for breaky/lunch and hanging out with a coffee. Really cool.
    • 33 Carmine St, New York, NY 10014-4428

  • Fatty Crab
    • Soul food and thai infused awesomeness with beer out of the can. So AWESOME!!!!!!
    • 643 Hudson Street, New York, NY. (212) 352-3590. Fattycrab.com
  • Magnolia Bakery
    • A trip to NYC wouldn't be the same without these world famous but totally local cupcakes. WOW.
    • 401 Bleecker Street. New York, NY 10014. (212) 462-2572. Magnoliabakery.com
Going to see a broadway show?
Eat here before...

  • Etcetera Etcetera
    • Great modern Italian restaurant, which unless it's pizza after a night on the booze I'm usually not interested in - but this place is GREAT.
    • 352 West 44th Street, New York, NY. (212) 399-4141

Eat here after your broadway show to talk about how camp it was, err, I mean how great it was...
  • Lindy's for 24 hour cheesecake and coffee:
    • 825 7th Avenue, New York, NY 10019. (212) 767-8343
